UPDATE

In an attempt to mend my situation with the receptionist, I have taken to propping the hallway door closest to my desk with various office paraphernalia: magazines, brochures, etc. This way I can sneak out to the bathroom and sneak right back in to my desk without having to walk all the way around and get buzzed in.

Until I got busted. And busted by the CHAIRMAN OF OUR COMPANY. "DW is that you messing with the security of our office?," while smiling but still very serious he adds, "now how is that going to look when a potential partner comes in here to check out our security?" I don't even remember what I said/ mumbled I was so nervous.

OK, but I am sorry, 1) NO potential partners are currently here 2) what does he think is going to happen in the few short minutes I take a pee break, honestly? Some armed robber is going to jet into the office and cause such enormous havoc that we will be forced to shut down? Really.
