I have come to the conclusion that I have good and bad weeks at work. Some weeks I find myself staring at my computer blank faced while taking random time-outs to read blogs and check my email about 50 times a day. And then another week I will be all work-maniac and get so much done. This week is the former.
These weeks are bad all around. Upon analysis I find that these bad weeks start in the mornings. I sleep late then get lazy and absolutely refuse to iron anything. Therefore I end up wearing an atrocious outfit; however not noticing this until I stare at my reflection in the elevator mirror in horror. Today’s outfit consists of a pair of pants that look way too similar to the ones I wore yesterday topped with a sweater I think I owned in high school finished off with the disgusting sweater pills that have created practically another sweater layer on top of the original sweater. To make matters worse a girl at work just called me out on my old school sweater while I was in the midst of making this post.
During these week’s I do not like answering any questions. And I get asked a lot of questions. Today it got so bad that I ended up making the drive home for lunch so that I could hibernate in my house and watch Home Improvement for an hour. It was sweet relief.
So today I found out that my friend has mono. Naturally, I have started scheming. Do I have mono? I didn’t drink anything out of her glass and I ain’t in Canada so I certainly did not make out with her. (long story, it was college mind your own business) But no one at work knows this.
Shall I stoop so low as to fake mono to get to work from home for the rest of this week? Who knows…the world’s an uncertain place.
